It’s hard to believe that the cross country
season is over. It went by so fast, but I am thankful for all the memories. I
feel there was a lot of team unity and talent on the team, which led us to be
section champs. There is still a lot of talent remaining on the team and I
believe the girls can win the section next year. Thanks for all of the memories
and good luck next year!!! I’d also like to thank Mrs. Schaeffer and Mr.
Karazsia for all of their help and motivation. Also, to Mr. Karazsia – “Amazing
Grapes, How Sweet They Taste”, thanks for all of the jokes. It made practice
more interesting.

Now is the time when I can
share with you some of my experiences and thoughts as I put closure to my cross
country career. While this marks one of the many
finalities in my senior year of high
school, it also gives me an exciting opportunity
to begin anew. I will begin my college studies and non-scholastic running
career in a few months. I begin these and all other activities with great
anticipation and excitement, but remembering to never forget where I have been.
These high school years have given me a solid foundation on which to build, and
I am ready to move on with “miles to go before I sleep.”
I appreciate the unforgettable experiences that
I have had with cross country. Certainly, being carried across the line at my
final practice was one of the many unforgettable experiences that I had. I am
lucky to have been able to share my experiences with great teammates and coaches
through the years. I thank my former teammates who have since graduated for
being excellent runners and people. Thank you to my current teammates for
sharing their runs, laughs, pain, and friendship with me. Mrs. Schaeffer, I
appreciate your advice and support through the years. I know I could not have
improved from a nine-minute mile in junior high to where I am now without you.
To my first cross country coach, Mr. Karazsia, thank you for all of the laughs,
advice, and Macintosh enlightenment. Last, but certainly not least, I would
like to thank my family for waking up at early hours of the morning and driving
me to my practices and supporting me at my meets.
Seniors,
congratulations on your many accomplishments and best of luck as we journey into
the future together. Underclassmen, there is much potential on both teams. It
is up to you to harness that potential and now is the time to develop it.
Girls, build off of your section title and achieve even greater heights in the
future. Boys, use this season as a launching pad to reach for and touch the
stars in the future. I really enjoyed running with both teams during these
years and would be honored to come back and run with you or watch a race. I
wish both teams great amounts of success and hope that I was part of something
that will be even greater in the future.
Now is
the time to pass the torch to the future leaders of the team. Carry the light
into the future so that others may follow.

As
I look back on the years I would like to thanks everyone who has helped make my
cross-country years so memorable. Through the years cross-country has helped me
to grow and mature into the person I am today. When I began cross-country 3
years ago it was not my first love but as the years progressed I can truly say
that it was the experience of a lifetime. For me cross-country was not just
about running it was about dedication, motivation and the desire to succeed.
This year I think that our team had all of these aspects. Our section title
could not have been won if we would not have worked together and relied on one
another for support.
In addition I would like to thank Mrs.
Schaeffer and Mr. Karazia for everything they have done for me. You both have
been such an inspiration to me. I also appreciated all the patience you both
have had with me throughout the years. I furthermore want to thank everyone on
the team for making my last year the best possible. Lastly I want to thank my
parents for their constant support and commitment. Your relentless
encouragement is what has helped make my senior year such a success.
Additionally I want to wish the entire
team good luck. All of you have the talent to succeed so continue to persevere
in everything you do. Never give up and make the most of these years because
the memories will last a lifetime.

These
past couple of years, in cross country, have been so memorable and rewarding. I
would like to thank Mrs. Schaeffer, Mr. Karazsia, and everyone on the team for
making this such a great experience for me. Also, I would like to congratulate
the girls on section champs, not to mention all of the PR’s. To all the seniors,
good luck in the future in everything you do. And to all the underclassmen, you
all have had very successful seasons and I know that you will have a very
promising team next and in seasons to come. Keep up the good work. Good luck,
run fast, and HAVE FUN!!!
This
cross-country season we had a lot of good times and a lot of success. I will
have a lot of great memories to carry with me for the rest of my life. I feel
that much of our success this season was brought about by so many of us staying
dedicated in the summer and going to Saint Francis cross-country camp. During
that week of camp I had a lot of fun and got to know my teammates better,
however, trained hard at the same time. Some of the memories I have from this
year are such things as going to the Olive Garden for dinner, another is the day
we did rickies and got in a mud battle, and so many more. I would like to thank
Mrs. Schaeffer and Mr. Karazia for always pushing me to do my best. I would also
like to thank the girls team, also know as “men” according to Mr. K, for always
keeping a positive attitude and striving to better themselves. Last but not
least I would like to thank my parents for coming to my meets even if one had to
go to Tanisha’s basketball game and one to watch me. Both the girls and the
boys have young teams are young and have so much potential. Good Luck next
year, RUN FAST!!!
